On Memorial Day, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 and a half year anniversary. We started the day off at the beach, where things didn't exactly go as planned. We didn't really think about it being Memorial Day and didn't realize the place would be packed! We ended up having to park a mile away from the beach and carry a huge cooler and bags the whole way. Needless to say I complained (just a little bit). After the beach we got dressed up and went to dinner at Webers an amazing seafood and steak restaurant in ann arbor. It's connected to a gorgeous boutique hotel and the food was too good (so good I forgot to take a picture). We got strawberry shortcake a la mode and it was like heaven. We finished the night off with a walk around Ann Arbor!


Do your and your significant other celebrate anniversaries? We like to go "all-out" and celebrate the 6 month marks together with fancy expensive dates, but tend to not make a big deal out of smaller ones.

Proposals: intimate or a full on performance?

When it comes to marriage proposals I always thought I would want a nice intimate proposal, just me and my man getting down on one knee in some place romantic. But then I see videos like this one and sometimes think how flippin' awesome it would be to have my man put on production for me. This has to be the cutest thing ever!

If you had a choice how would you want to be proposed to? I am not sure, but all I know is if I find a ring in a food I will not be happy, something about a thousand dollar ring touching something I am about to eat just seems wrong!

I was bribed with Olga's for lunch to go to the nursery with my mom, so of course I said yes. To be honest, I hate gardening (Alex complains we will have a yard with just grass) but I do love flowers. Of course while my mom was picking things out I snapped some pics with the trusty iPhone. Then enjoyed a yummy original Olga (like a lamb gyro, with onion tomato and Greek yogurt sauce) with curly fries and a big diet coke!

Life as of lately

New summer clothes I got at Aerie. I got amazing deals almost everything was 40% off, and I had an extra 40% off coupon on top of that! Thanks mommy for the new summer clothes.

New shampoo I got, I have been using the Argan oil one for about a week and love it. This one is equally amazing for your hair, plus you smell like a pina colada after using it so it's a double win!

And in a last note I broke out the frapee maker this weekend. I love that I can make my own flavors, I use silk vanilla soy milk, Torani sugar free vanilla syrup, caramel ice cream syrup, and lots of ice! The machine I have brews the coffee then blends it all in one machine, but the same thing could be done by brewing coffee and pouring it into the mixture of yummies and ice then blending it with a standard blender. It's alot cheaper than Starbucks and this way I can control what types of ingredients go in to control the calories. I figure mine has about...

coffee: 0 calories
ice: 0 calories
1/4 cup vanilla soy milk: 25 calories
Torani sugar free vanilla syrup: 0 calories
Smuckers Caramel Sundae Syrup: about 100 calories (that's for 2 Tbsp. I don't measure but it's about that much)
Whipped Cream: I put a thin layer on top so about 50-100 calories
which equals about 200 calories total

My favorite starbucks frap: Grande Java Chip Frappuccono: 460 calories!!

medium McDonalds Caramel Frappe: 550 calories!!!

So I might have kind of fallen in love with IHeart Organizing yesterday. She has the the most amazing organizing tips. I can't wait until I own my own home so I can put some of her awesome ideas to use.

PS: my new goal in life is to be half as organized as Jen is

Growing Up

Sometimes I forget how quickly life passes. It seems like just yesterday my boyfriend graduated from high school and we were spending our first summer together. But now I feel like we're such grown ups. Yesterday he leased his first car and is paying for it all on his own, and he starts his first big boy job today. I am so proud of him for getting this awesome opportunity! But I am secretly going to miss seeing him all day this summer. The whole 8-5 thing makes me wish we didn't have to grow up. Even though I'll be starting my 8-5 in 6 weeks nannying, summer just wont be the same without sleeping in late and staying up until 2 am. I'll miss our morning walks together and afternoon bike rides. But hey we all gotta grow up soon, sometimes I just wish life would slow down...especially during the summer time.

On Tuesday my boyfriend and went To the Detroit zoo. I kinda have an obsession with the zoo, it's a bit weird. The combination of baby animals and babies looking at animals is too cute. Sadly there weren't many baby animals yesterday, just one baby chimp. But her cuteness made up for the lack of babies!

Sisters sweet 16
