Third Time Is The Charm

See these cookies here, without the story behind them they look just like ordinary cookies...but these cookies were the biggest pain in the ass I have ever experienced.

Alex had a pot luck at work and wanted to bring cookies, and unlike me he wanted to actually bake some from scratch (not even with a mix!) You see, I'm more of a pick something up from the store, put it on a plate and pretend I made it kind of girl...but I still volunteered to help.

Well you see...this recipe is amazing, it's the Mrs. Fields recipe and it didn't seem that hard to make. It did involve grinding oatmeal which is an added step, but the real issue what that Alex and I can't read directions or measuring spoons.

Let's just say it took three people to correctly mix the dry ingrediants for these damn cookies. Alex measured all of the ingredients with a tablespoon versus a teaspoon....and I added a 1/2 tablespoon of salt versus a 1/2 teaspoon. So let's just say we kind of messed up. Thankfully his mom knows the recipe by heart and was able to save the day. But I think this is my last attempt at baking for a little bit, whoever thinks baking is "relaxing" is crazy.

Hope my tales of being undomesticated were a welcome treat, hope everyone has a safe and fun memorial day weekend!
