Top Five Friday

1. Good Books
I just got done reading Fifty Shades of Grey, and despite the mixed reviews I kinda really liked it. My boyfriend made fun of me for reading "mommy porn" but I kinda looked past the graphic stuff most of the time and focused on my bipolar opinions of Mr. Grey himself. One minute I would want to rip his head off the next moment I wanted to...

Right now I starting to read The Lucky One. When I got my Kindle, The Lucky One movie commercial was playing every 10 minutes so I bought this on impulse and hadn't read it. But I finally started and it isn't bad. It isn't my favorite Nicholas Sparks book, but I am still giving it a chance. What are your favorite Nicholas Sparks movies/books? (don't be embarrassed Nicholas Sparks is every girls guilty please...agreed?)
2. Easy Meals
Even though I didn't make this, I watched my mom and I am convinced I can do this myself. Cut up peppers and onions cook in a pan with a little bit of oil. Cut up chicken and cook in another pan. When chicken is cooked add water and the seasoning packet along with the peppers. And ta-da! Fajitas!

3. Ice Cream
I don't care what any health person tells me, ice cream is and should always be an everyday food! Although I don't eat it daily (more like 4 days a week) my boyfriend and I debated and decided a bowl of ice cream daily is "healthy". We obviously are a long ways from being healthy eaters... But let me tell you this ice cream from Guernsey's is definitely "eat-every-day" worthy. I love myself some good moose tracks!
4. Almost done with summer classes
I can not explain how happy I am to be almost done with these online classes! My geography class was interesting, the professor was organized, and the exams were straight forward. My educational psychology class was a different story. I am actually convinced my professor is dead considering she hasn't made any class announcements since the 6th, and she didn't respond to any of my emails. So needless to say I have no idea if I did my final project correctly (since she never answered my questions) and I have no idea what my final grade is going to be. I am happy to say that I finished four hours worth of lectures yesterday which marks the end of my online lectures..forever!

5. New Job on Monday!

I am beyond excited to start my nanny job on Monday. I am nannying two little girls (one 4 and one 6) for the remainder of summer. I know I am going to have my hands full, but I am really excited about the experience. I mean it's kinda the greatest job on earth: I get paid to be a mom for the week, I got a pool membership, and I just hang out outside all day. I'll take that over my old retail job any day! The only part that is going to take a bit to get used to is the early wake up. I plan to wake up at 6 am so I can run in the morning before getting to work at 8. Luckilly the family lives 2 minutes away from me so I don't have a long commute.
Does anyone have any suggestions/advice for handling little girls for 8 hours a day?

  2. 1 - 100% agreement for ice cream, i believe it is the 6th food group - try it in a mug, it will give you smaller portions that don't actually look smaller

2 - oh the 50 books!! i loved them beyond belief. got them free on kindle… then bought the hard copy cause I loved it so much and paper is better. the second read through i really enjoyed focusing more in their evolution as characters and loved it so much more.

  3. Kelsie!! I'm so happy you did this! Thank you so much for the support. I seriously loved reading it!!! Question: Is "Fifty Shades of Grey" on some book reading list that I don't know about or something? You are like the 4th person I've seen that has been reading it. Is there something I don't know about? Haha I also agree with the ice cream thing. I've told my husband that it may not be good for my health, but it's sure good for my morale! Good luck on your job girly. I'm rootin' for ya!! Thanks again :)

  10. omg lol i just read the fifty shades trilogy, then the lucky one, then a couple more. i did NOT like fifty shades, but mostly because i dont find anything attractive about a man who wants to control my life (why i am team jacob in twilight! ...and see as 50 is twilight fan fiction...welllll it makes sense!) that being said, im glad i read it, so i can have an opinion!

also, yummmm ice cream! i went on a hunt for frozen yogurt yesterday!
