Closet Clean Up

It isn't a huge difference at first glance, but the top shelf of my closet was full of boxes and bags of unused things so I decided to move my hoodies off of the side shelves and move some boxes of shoes to the top shelf. This way I have my two side shelves for sweaters and jeans instead.

Some people like to organize by color, but coming from Michigan where the weather changed daily (50 one day, 85 the next, it happens, usually in March) I like to organize by sleeve length so I can dress according to the weather. I start with tanks, then short sleeve, then long sleeve. After shirts I have casual dresses, formal dresses, dress pants, formal skirts, and party skirts. In the very back I keep my blazers, and jean jackets.

All right, so I kinda have alot of pairs of shoes. But in my opinion you need different shoes for every occasion. Up here on this are the shoes I don't wear very often or shoes that are out of season. To save money I just put the shoes in shoe boxes I already own and put index card labels on them. I hope to one day move them to plastic boxes with cute labels, or picture labels.
